E Road from 31 Road to Agape Way has been closed to through traffic since October 12, 2020, for reconstruction and widening of the roadway. Currently, all the utility relocations such as gas, electric, telephone, and cable are complete.
The new irrigation lines were completed on April 4, 2021, and currently, irrigation water is operational to all the homeowners north and south of E Road.
Over the next couple of months, the new storm sewer, water line, and sewer line will near completion. During the final installation of the new underground utilities, traffic from Indian Rye will be diverted to the west to 31 Road as the utilities are installed.
Please expect detours to change due to the depth and volume of the new utility lines.
31½ Road will remain closed during the final installation of the underground utilities and as work begins with the new concrete curb, gutter, and sidewalk.
Concrete curb, gutter, and sidewalk installation will begin around the middle of June starting at 31 Road and continuing east on both the north and south sides of E road. Preparation of the base for the new roadway will follow.
Paving for the new roadway will be in the following sequence:
- Phase 1, from 31 Road to 31¼ Road — bottom mat of asphalt on or about the third week of July
- Phase 2, from 31¼ to 31½ Road — bottom mat of asphalt on or about the second week of August
- Phase 3, from 31½ Road to Royal Ann Way — bottom mat of asphalt on or about the end of Aug
- Phase 4, from Royal Ann Way to Agape Way — bottom mat of asphalt on or about the middle of September
The final top mat of asphalt and permanent striping will then follow, along with landscaping clean-up and repairs, with project completion of the project by November.
Mesa County along with K & D Construction, Inc. appreciate your patience during the construction process. Please be advised that traffic detours, closings, and openings may change as the project progresses.
