Mesa County and the City of Grand Junction are jointly working to reconstruct Orchard Avenue from Normandy Drive to 29 Road. This project is the second phase of improvements to pedestrian routes near Nisley Elementary as well as a reconstruction of the roadway. Construction began this week and will be completed in the fall. Improvements will include widening the road to three lanes, adding bike lanes, adding gutters, sidewalks, storm sewer, and streetlights through the entire stretch, on both the north and south sides of Orchard Avenue.
