After an almost 90-day road closure, 31 Road, leading to the Mesa County Landfill, is now open.

For about three months all vehicles accessing the Organic Materials Composting Facility and the Landfill, 3071 US Highway 50, were rerouted to Hookless Boulevard. During construction, residents were advised of longer waits and were encouraged to limit the number of trips they took to the landfill during the construction.

Saturday voting was so slow the Election Judges were catching lizards and naps!  

The 24-H.96 Bridge Replacement Project will include the construction of a new bridge over GVIC, related road work, irrigation modifications, and road profile improvements. Additionally, there will be a reconstruction of the intersection at 24 Road and I Road to improve the sight distance.

A teen wolf was spotted at the Mesa County Landfill on Halloween.

The first annual Assessor's Office Soup-Off Fundraiser was a hit! 
Shirley Shaw, with the Assessor's Office, coordinated the event and thanks everyone who participated.

The winning soup goes to Dianna Valdez (left) for her amazing Pork Posole Verde (soup #8)! Dianna donated her cash prize to accompany the entry fee earnings (total of $142) to be donated to her favorite charity: Warm Hearts~Warm Babies. Shirley Shaw holds up the prize.
