Mesa County Regulatory Compliance Manager appointed to Solid and Hazardous Waste Commission

Ryan Kyle, Mesa County Regulatory Compliance Manager

Governor Polis appointed Ryan Kyle, Mesa County Regulatory Compliance Manager, to the vital and esteemed Solid and Hazardous Waste Commission. His appointment ensures western Colorado communities have a knowledgeable and trusted voice in the Capital.

The commission is comprised of nine members, appointed by the governor, responsible for promoting and adopting solid and hazardous waste rules, establishing fees, and deciding penalties for hazardous waste violations.

Kyle received a B.A. and a B.F.A. from Colorado Mesa University in 2003 and currently holds his OSHA 40-hour (HAZWOPER) Hazardous Waste and Emergency Response certification and his OSHA (HAZWOPER) Site Supervisor certification.

Kyle has been part of the Mesa County Solid Waste Management team since March 2018. As the Regulatory Compliance Manager, he ensures Mesa County Landfill maintains compliance with all federal, state, and county regulations.

Before joining the Mesa County Solid Waste team, Kyle provided environmental consultation and planning for soil and groundwater remediation projects and hazardous material clean-up project management. He has extensive groundwater sampling and analysis experience and previously served as a consultant for Federal, state, and local compliance issues.
