County Commissioners approved a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Mesa County and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) regarding the development of the Gunnison Sage-Grouse Resource Management Plan Amendment and Environmental Impact Statement (RMPA/EIS).
The MOU establishes a cooperating agency relationship, providing a framework for cooperation and coordination, and documenting agreed-upon procedures, roles, and responsibilities associated with preparing the proposed Gunnison Sage-Grouse RMPA/EIS.
The BLM is the lead agency responsible for completing the RMPA/EIS and the Record of Decision. Mesa County is a Cooperating Agency due to its unique expertise with County plans and resources within the County.
