Last week, Inside Mesa County class participants heard from the Sheriff’s Office and Criminal Justice Services.
Mesa County Sheriff Todd Rowell spoke about the statutory responsibilities of the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office, the budget, and collateral duties.
Undersheriff Matt King discussed volunteer opportunities and shared the functions and responsibilities of the detention division.

Criminal Justice Services Manager Shawn McNamara and Community Corrections Director Michelle Cooley talked about residential community corrections, Summit View treatment services, and community-based programs. Their goal is to maintain community safety while working with individuals for long-term behavior change.
