The rehabilitation project on the Mesa-G.8-39.1 Bridge, located on North River Road over the Colorado River, east of Palisade, is nearing completion.
Bridge deck repairs are complete after weeks of concrete bridge deck removal and concrete pouring to extend the life of the bridge.Last week, the north and south approaches to the bridge were paved, then a thin bonded epoxy overlay was applied, which will serve as the new road surface.
This involved using a layer of epoxy and then spreading flint stone chips on top. The process was repeated, providing two layers that created the new road surface for the bridge.
Project Schedule and Information
The project operates Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The anticipated completion date is April 2022.
