Mesa County has applied for a $1.9 million Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) grant in the hope of receiving the funding to go toward the $3.9 million estimated costs to construct the first phase of the Orchard Avenue (E 1/2 Road) Safety and Connectivity Project.
The grant would cover the construction of approximately 2/3 of a mile of the Orchard Avenue corridor from Warrior Way to East Valley Drive. The grant is part of CDOT's Revitalizing Main Streets: Safety Infrastructure Grant, funded by Colorado's COVID Recovery Plan.
