Colorado Mesa University (CMU) and the Mesa County Workforce Center (MCWFC) are working together to connect qualified students and graduates to employment opportunities in the Grand Valley. The two organizations have long teamed up to tackle community needs, including the creation of the Workforce Development Liaison (WDL) position to facilitate connections between CMU students and our local workforce.

Approaching nearly two years of this partnership, the success stories are remarkable. Job seekers are finding more success in making meaningful engagements with employers, connecting to jobs best suited for them. Employers are hiring more qualified candidates, utilizing a more personalized approach facilitated by the WDL.

As part of Workforce Development Month, MCWFC and CMU are proud to present a video series highlighting an overview of this unique position, its role with our community partners, and an exceptional example of how the liaison collaborated with the Fruita Chamber of Commerce for a successful new hire. "We recognize that workforce development in Mesa County is only successful if we collaborate as a community to address the need," said Curtis Englehart, Workforce Center Director. "This collaboration with CMU is a prime example of partnering together to solve a need in the community. We are extremely excited to watch this position excel in Mesa County."
