Mesa County is seeking volunteers to serve on the Board of Adjustment.
The Board of Adjustment hears and decides on issues of physical variances related to the county zoning code. Variance requests may include changes to dimensions, structural location, or other development requirements.
Under C.R.S. 30-28-117 and Mesa County Land Development Code, the Board of Adjustment has the authority to make special exceptions to the terms of the zoning regulations. It may also interpret zoning maps and pass upon disputed appeals by persons aggrieved by their inability to obtain a building permit or by the decision of any administrative officer or agency made in the course of the administration or enforcement of the provisions of the zoning resolution.
The commission is comprised of seven members and three alternates. Terms are for three years.
