Crews install concrete box culverts for the new bridge located over the Little Salt Walsh on 18.5 Road. |
Progress continues on the 18.5-K.99A Bridge Replacement Project — 13 more concrete box culverts have been installed. The 12' x 10' boxes are for the outside runs of the new bridge.
The project has experienced delays due to supplier/manufacturer issues. However, the project is still on schedule for completion in late May.
The concrete culvert boxes will soon be covered up and under the ground. |
This week, concrete was poured for the headwall on the bridge's outlet side, which helps tie all the boxes together, prevents erosion, and helps hold the fill (dirt) in place after the structure is buried.
In a couple of weeks, 17 additional concrete culvert boxes will be set.
