Batteries contain toxic chemicals; please dispose of them properly at the Mesa County Hazardous Waste Collection Facility, 3071 Hwy. 50.

Did you know that most batteries contain toxic chemicals, including cadmium, lead, lithium, or sulfuric acid?

If discarded improperly, the chemicals can pollute our soil, water, and air when the batteries break down. It is also possible for them to short circuit, overheat, and cause a fire — this is called "thermal runaway."

Protect yourself and others, and do not throw batteries in the trash. Properly dispose of ALL batteries and other household hazardous waste at the Mesa County Hazardous Waste Collection Facility, 3071 Hwy. 50.
