The Cameo Complex is a destination for organized shooting competitions. It serves as an educational and training facility, where kids can learn about the safe use of firearms and law enforcement can practice their skills.

The bridge will provide access over a dry wash leading to a planned Olympic-style archery range.

“Mesa County has been an incredible partner at Cameo,” said JT Romatzke, CPW Northwest Regional Manager. “This donation is yet another bridge between this amazing state-operated facility, and it’s Mesa County red rock canyon roots.”

The Cameo Shooting and Education Complex was built on the site of a decommissioned Xcel Energy electric generation facility. Community leaders have supported CPW’s efforts to build a world-class shooting facility on the property over the last six years. In 2021, the Cameo Shooting and Education Complex is slated to host national and international shooting championships as well as thousands of local shooters who enjoy the spectacular facilities and scenery.
