The 2021 proposed budget was presented on Monday, Oct. 12, by Mesa County Administrator Pete Baier and Budget Manager Jeremy Caudle, during the Board of Mesa County Commissioners’ administrative public hearing.

"This budget fulfills the commissioners’ commitment to fiscal responsibility while prioritizing essential services," Mesa County Administrator Pete Baier said. "Our priority is to continue to support our community as it recovers from the impacts of COVID-19."

"Although we are still in the midst of this unprecedented public health crisis, we have been able to deliver and maintain service levels without interruption while being fiscally responsible," Baier added. “Public health, public safety, workforce development, waste management, and all of our other essential services continue to operate to support economic development and the quality of life of our residents."

The total county budget is $190,610,241. This represents an increase of 1.30% (or $2,538,165) over the 2020 adopted budget. The net county budget, which deducts inter-fund transfers and internal services, totals $165,857,395.

The general fund is $67,260,662 proposed revenue and $67,255,836 proposed expenditures in the proposed budget. To review more detailed information, click here.
