Delinquent Tax Payments Must Be Paid With Certified Funds

Property taxes officially become delinquent after June 15 each year. If a taxpayer fails to pay on time, the unpaid portion is considered delinquent and can incur penalty charges and go through a tax sale. For payments postmarked after each deadline date, taxpayers must include the appropriate penalty charge with property tax payment. Forms of payment can typically be made by mail, drop box, online, or in person.

However, as the Mesa County Treasurer’s Office prepares for publication and conduct of the Nov. 30 Tax Lien Sale, the online payment system has been disabled — delinquent tax payments are now required to be paid with certified funds.

The Treasurer's Office is available to answer questions by phone or email at 970-244-1824 or mctreas@mesacounty.us.
