The Mesa County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) Honor Guard partnered with the Redlands Lion's Club to teach local elementary students about the American Flag. On Wednesday, first-graders at Broadway Elementary School saw the Presentation of the Colors, said the Pledge of Allegiance, and learned about the meaning of the 13 folds during the flag-folding ceremony.

It is the MCSO Honor Guard's privilege to share the flag-folding ceremony with the students and will be visiting more elementary schools this week.
On Thursday, a "chain-breaking" ceremony was hosted to celebrate the completion of the new Monument Trail that connects the Lunch Loop Trailhead to the Riverfront Trail. The event was open to the public.

As of Monday, Feb. 17, construction crews returned to work on the Palisade Plunge. 
Last week, a crew began transporting hand tools and supplies from the Town of Palisade up to the canyon where trail construction was left off in December 2019.

To date, 11 miles of total finished trail have been completed on the Palisade Plunge.

Work on the completion of the Orchard Avenue Project will resume on March 2, 2020. The remaining work will include paving, concrete island, utility adjustments, striping, and landscaping. Orchard Avenue will be closed from Normandy Drive to 29 Road during paving, which is scheduled for the week of March 30, 2020.

Progress continues with the elevator replacement project at the old Mesa County Courthouse. The project is near completion. Accommodations are still in place to address accessibility issues.
