Construction crews pour concrete for a new sidewalk connecting Highway 340 between Vista Grande Drive and Kansas Ave. This sidewalk is the last piece that connects downtown all the way to the west end of the Redlands. Also, included in the project are curb and gutter, culvert items, retaining wall, landscaping, fencing, site restoration and seeding. The project is partially funded by a grant from the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT).

Mesa County and Yeh Associate personnel inspect the new sidewalk moments after the concrete was poured by Mays Concrete on Highway 340 sidewalk project.

The project consists of the construction of a five-foot-wide concrete path on the north side of Highway 340 between Vista Grande Drive and Kansas Ave. Major features of the project include a concrete sidewalk and unclassified excavation. Also included are curbs and gutters, culvert items, retaining wall, landscaping, fencing, site restoration and seeding. This project is partially being funded by a grant from CDOT.
Crews from K&D Construction work on lowering 31 Road at the intersection to the compost facility. Improved sight lines and added turning lanes will increase the safety of this busy intersection.

Mesa County Solid Waste Management staff set up a booth and sponsored a "bounce house" during the annual Bounce Back to School Night in Lincoln Park. 

Mesa County Solid Waste Management and Gunnison County Public Works staff sort through waste at the Gunnison County landfill. This is part of the continuing regional waste characterization study, funded through the RREO Grant from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. 


Mesa County Solid Waste Management staff and Mesa County Sheriff's deputies pick-up debris from Highway 50, on Saturday, near 31 Road. Uncovered and unsecured trash loads can lead to dangerous driving conditions, so remember to "tarp it." 

Road and Bridge staff coming in the clutch to assist our staff with grading the landfill road while the motor grader was down. It was a huge help!

Clerk & Recorder Sheila Reiner’s grandson, Sawyer Reiner, came to visit the Motor Vehicle office while his parental units took care of some business. This is how you handle a BIG water bottle!
