The Mesa County Motor Vehicle Office has gone live with the new Colorado Driver License, Record, Identification and Vehicle Enterprise Solution (Colorado DRIVES) system. The state recently implemented this new system statewide to replace the Colorado State Titling and Registration System (CSTARS), which was initially installed in the 1980s. The director of the Department of Revenue Michael Hartman will be making a site visit Wednesday, Aug. 8 at 11 a.m. at the Mesa County Motor Vehicle Office located at 200 S. Spruce St. in the Central Services Building.
“We are excited to introduce the DRIVES system into both driver license and motor vehicle offices in Colorado,” said Department of Revenue Executive Director Michael Hartman. “This new system offers a 35-year leap in technology, which will allow for a faster customer experience with several additional online service options.”
After being closed for a few days for data conversion and software implementation, the Mesa County Motor Vehicle Office is now open and operating under the new system.
“We are very excited for this new era in Motor Vehicle software,” Mesa County Clerk & Recorder Division Director Jackie Campbell said. “While we still have the online renewal process, there are 13 new online services available through DRIVES to allow you to Skip the Trip.”
