A storm sewer inspection and assessment project will soon get underway. On Sept. 27, the Board of County Commissioners approved a $500,000 agreement with Pro-Pipe Inc. to complete an investigative inspection of storm sewer pipes and create reporting for asset management. Mesa County has approximately 40 miles of storm sewer, excluding culverts.
Each storm pipe in Mesa County will need to be cleaned and video inspected. During the inspection, repairs that need to be completed will be cataloged along with the pipe's condition, the diameter/length, the pipe's material, recommendations for repairs, and cost estimates.
Pro-Pipe Inc. will provide a report prioritizing the repairs and approximate cost, along with files of the inspection data compatible with importing the data into the County's geographic information system (GIS) system.
