Goal: 100 New Foster Homes in 100 Days
#MesaCountyFostersPets

Did you hear Mesa County and Roice-Hurst Humane Society teamed up to launch a foster pet challenge to encourage the community to open their hearts and homes to a furry friend while it awaits a forever home? The campaign goal is to find 100 new foster families in 100 days. Now through Wednesday, September 21 to alleviate strain on local shelters and help pets find new homes across the county.

We challenge you to open your heart and home to a foster pet during this time of need. To get started as a foster family and welcome a shelter pet into the safety and comfort of your home, learn more and sign up at RHhumanesociety.org/foster!

To kick off the challenge, both Roice-Hurst Humane Society and Mesa County Animal Services are offering $50 adoption fees for all pets today through Sunday, June 19!

“Fostering a dog or cat means volunteering to provide short-term care to a shelter pet in your home,” Anna Stout, CEO of Roice-Hurst Humane Society, said. “When you foster an animal, you’re helping two pets: the one you bring into your home and the one we can now bring into the shelter due to that space opening up.”

“The walls of our shelters are as big as the community of supporters who surround us,” Janet Rowland, Mesa County Commissioner, said. “Support through fostering makes a tangible impact on the lives of many homeless pets and gives the foster the additional benefit of the company of a new companion for a little while.”
