Join Palisade Plunge partners and stakeholders on Friday, July 23, at 2 p.m. at the Mesa Top Trail parking lot, off of Hwy. 65, on the Grand Mesa for the official grand opening to celebrate the trail's completion.

The Palisade Plunge is a 34-mile mountain bike trail from the top of the Grand Mesa to the Town of Palisade.

The Palisade Plunge trail results from a partnership between the Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Forest Service, Mesa County, Town of Palisade, City of Grand Junction, Grand Junction Economic Partnership, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, and the Colorado Plateau Mountain Bike Trail Association (COPMOBA).

“The Palisade Plunge was built on collaboration and dedication,” said Mesa County Commissioner Cody Davis. “It’s exciting to see such an incredible, multi-agency project come to fruition.”

The event will celebrate the completion of the trail and will recognize the various federal, state, and local partners involved in designing, planning, and funding the Palisade Plunge, a 6,000-foot trail descent for mountain bikes and non-motorized recreation uses.

Trail users are encouraged to safely enjoy and recreate responsibly by considering their experience, skills, and preparedness before taking “The Plunge.”
